London Style Guide

Almost every fashion lover can name off the four fashion capitals of the world (New York, Paris, Milan and London if you were curious). For this reason I couldn’t help but wonder exactly what made each fashion capital tick. Each season similar items might appear on the runways, but often each city's fashion weeks will have their own ‘look’. As the particularly fashion obsessed person I am, I decided why not give everyone a special treat for the holidays and break down each city’s unique style…

If you want to look at the others, here are the links!

New York:

Historically a colder and more proper climate, London is a city steeped in history. For reasons that I simply can’t fathom, it also remains a city that is not popularly covered during fashion week! That the city that gave birth to the youth quake of the ‘60s isn’t as excitedly covered in fashion as the other capitals astounds me. So why not change that? Even if only a little bit…

Fashion philosophies

  1. ‘Smart’ casual is always a good option

  2. Layering is key

  3. Keep it effortless, a large amount of detailing isn’t what we’re looking for here

  4. Play up darker colors

  5. Mix ‘masculine’ with ‘feminine’ (in all the stereotypical sense)

  6. Black leather jackets will make any outfit pop
