Rise of the star girl aesthetic

Leave it to me to find the most random aesthetics on either Pinterest or TikTok. After all, at this point, it’s the majority of my feed on either account. Since trends have become somewhat ‘do or die’ in the fashion world, I figured why not break down the Star Girl aesthetic?
More popular on TikTok than any other platform, this aesthetic proves that not everyone who glitters is gold. The star girl aesthetic is champagne-fueled, beautiful, and hedonistic. The images that show up on Pinterest for this aesthetic are similar to pictures that would show up when looking for ‘Serena van der Woodsen-core.' At night, the star girl is glittering in metallics and sequins, she’s living for the thrill of it all. Since this aesthetic has been curated by so many different people, we get to other facets; such as the next day.
Over the years since Tumblr and Pinterest existed, I’ve come to notice that the golden girl or the party girl aesthetic doesn’t feature the ‘aesthetic’ pictures of the next day. The thing is, despite the fact that this is the comedown, the hangover, it is still heavily romanticized. It’s also more emotional and real, something that people crave in the media. The hoodies, headphones, and cigarettes explain the dark side of the aesthetic perfectly. And people love broken, beautiful things because they believe them to be more attainable, so why not fall for the Star Girl?
Below you will find images from her Pinterest board I created and the essentials of being a Stargirl.
